How 'bout them Cocks?!

Kyle and I hosted a "get together" at our house last night with some friends to watch the USC baseball game. I decided to cook enchiladas to serve for dinner and I also made a spicy black bean dip as an appetizer. The dip was very yummy but because the main ingredient is black beans it turned out to be a yucky color. I tried to pretty it up a little by serving the bean dip in different color bell peppers. I loved the idea! Next time they will look even better because I will use a cheese dip instead. I bought three different bell peppers: yellow, green and red. You simply cut out the top and clean the inside of the pepper. Last, scoop in your favorite dip! The party turned out to be a success! The Gamecocks won and we are now the national champions!!!
I forgot to take pictures last night but, here is an example of the pepper serving dish :)

Spending Time With My Mommy

In less than an hour my mom will be arriving at my house to stay for the weekend! We only live about 45 minutes away from each other but I love when she gets to come stay for a few days! We have already planned to shop, relax, and most importantly go to yard sales! We love getting up early to find some great deals :) Kyle I and I are keeping my brothers dog this weekend while he and his family are at the beach. My mom will be bringing her dogs when she comes. That leaves us with 2 labs, 1 chihauhau, 1 cat, 1 pomeranian mix and 1 yorkie. 6 ANIMALS! Wish us luck! :)

Blackberry's anyone?!

My husband and I have been picking blackberries to make cobblers, icecream, etc. Today I decided to try a new recipe: Blackberry Muffins. Of course I didn't follow the recipe correctly the first time and the muffins were a disaster! I tried again and they turned out very yummy! Some of the muffins I left plain and others I added a lemon sugar glaze. What do you think?!

First Time For Everything!

I'm new to this "blogging" idea and not sure if this is going to work out for me! I have several friends that are religious bloggers and I love to read theirs so I decided to give it a try! I'm a third grade teacher and I am married to a sweet sports and recreation director. We both love to work with kids and plan to have our own someday! As for now we have three sweet fur babies: Junior the chihauhau, Brody the lab and Rascal the fat, white cat. My husband and I just moved into a new home about a month or two ago and I am having a great time decorating and making the house "ours." Here are a few pictures of our new house and our sweet children.
